Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

What is Instrumentor?

Instrumentor is a music school. We have a growing pool of carefully selected and specialized teachers to ensure that students and teachers find their perfect match. With just the right teacher who shares your passion for music, who can teach you a desired playing technique, a certain style of music and your favourite tunes, you'll enjoy the lessons fully and stay motivated.

Who's behind Instrumentor?

Instrumentor Team

Instrumentor was founded by drummer Siro Müller and bassist Andreas Brändle. The two formed the rhythm section of Karaoke from Hell, the rock, metal and punk karaoke, which took place over ten years every Tuesday on the stage of the traditional Mascotte Club in Zürich. People from the audience repeatedly asked them for private music lessons. When they reached their capacity to teach any more students themselves, they began to refer students to befriended musicians and Instrumentor was born. In the meantime, Johnny, Aless and Julia have joined.

Why should I learn to play an instrument?

In a nutshell: playing music makes you happy, smart, satisfied, relieves everyday stress, improves coordination, fine motor skills and concentration.

How do I sign up?

We are happy to support and advise you in your search. Write an email with your ideas to [email protected] or just call: 043 537 26 24.

Where do the lessons take place?

Classes take place in music studios, classrooms and rehearsal rooms. You will find the corresponding location in each profile.

What are the teaching conditions at Instrumentor?

What happens if I don't like the lessons?

We know that for good music lessons it's important that the student feels comfortable with the teacher, that they pursue common goals and that the student likes the lessons. Therefore, a nonbinding trial lesson takes place first. You can then decide whether you want to continue with the teacher or not. If not, you can register with another teacher for another trial lesson.

How do I pay for the lessons?

If you liked the trial lesson and would like to attend to the remaining nine lessons of the subscription, we will send you an invoice.

How many lessons does a subscription include and how long do the lessons last?

A subscription includes ten lessons. One lesson lasts 45 minutes.

Will the subscription be renewed automatically?

After seven lessons we will send you an email with the possibility to renew your subscription. The decision is yours. Subscriptions can be cancelled any time before the first lesson.

What happens if I am unable to attend a lesson?

Like dentists, fitness trainers and masseurs therapists, Instrumentor refers to the 24-hour rule. If you cancel the lesson 24 hours in advance, you can catch up on it for free. If you cancel less than 24 hours in advance, the lesson will expire and you will not be able to make up for it.

Why is there no Instrumentor in my city?

We are convinced that the best music lessons arise when students and teachers fit together. This is only possible if a sufficiently large pool of teachers. That's why certain cities will only be available when this condition has been met.

Do you also offer lessons in producing and DJing?

Yes, you can find our teachers for electronic music lessons at .
